This doiley is the centrepiece of a duchess set, but I don't have the matching small doilies. It was embroidered in these colours when I bought it, and I'll always wonder if the stitcher followed a pattern or used her imagination with the colours? My unfinished version is below.

A year or so after I obtained the doiley pictured above, this one turned up on eBay, complete with matching doilies. One of the small doilies had been completed, but not the other, nor had this large one been started. There was no instructions provided, so I decided to do my own thing and use colours which matched a real peacock as closely as I could. Ken said tonight "why didn't you use some of your sparkly threads for the eyes?" If I'd had Pam's metallic threads when I started working on this, I would certainly had used them! But I ain't gonna pull all that stitching out now!

One end of a table runner. Sorry I can't fit the entire design in the scanner, but at least you get the most important part - the peacock!

An unusual (art deco style?) doiley I had forgotten about until I went searching for more to scan on to this blog!

Another lovely centrepiece doiley. Note the nice blue crocheted edge. I'm not usually keen on coloured crochet edges, but in this case it complements the colours used in the design.

If you look closely, this doily is almost the same as the one I posted a few days ago. This is one end of a centrepiece I have had for a while, and didn't realise how similar it was to the other one until I took them out to compare tonight. The colours are different, and the tail on this one is longer than the other doiley.

This is the smaller doiley matching the centrepiece below.

This is one end of the centrepiece in the three piece duchess set I won on eBay last week. Sorry it is so tiny; you may have to click on the image to enlarge it, but that might lose clarity, which would be a pity, as it is all stitched with one strand - quite beautiful.

I found these three swap cards at the collectors club meeting I attended last Sunday. It was the first meet. I'd been to for about 2 years, and I didn't get to see all the cards on sale. I am sure there are more Peacock cards; I'm on a mission now!!

I might have to amend the title of this blog to Patra's Peacocks, seeing I'm not confining the pictures to embroidered versions! This Satsuma bowl also belonged to my step-mum. As you can see, I tried to scan the bowl, with dubious results, but you can see the peacock design...sort of!

This brass dish belonged to my stepmother. I inherited all her ornaments when she died, and she obviously liked peacocks as well.

My only Peacock swap cards! I thought I had more, and I know there are others around. Guess I'll have to go shopping for them!
